The Enchanting World of Vintage Lady Head Vases

Let's explore the allure of vintage lady head vases! These charming pieces of art not only serve as vessels for blooms, but also have an interesting history!

Each delicate porcelain face tells a story. The intricate details, from the coiffed hair to the meticulously painted features, transport us to their time!

Collecting Lady Head Vases:

Every lady head vase has a unique history. Whether it's a mid-century classic or an Art Deco beauty, these vases carry the spirit of the time they were created. Imagine the stories they could tell if they could speak! There are hundreds of versions of head vases and they were manufactured by many different companies! Some of the companies include Inarco, Ucagco, Napco, Royal Copley, Relpo, Brinn's,Lefton, Parma,Trimont and more! They are all unique and sometimes so far as each being painted by hand by different artists! This means you could collect the same lady made by the same company and have variations across them! Their time was mainly between the 1950's-1960's. They were originally sold by florists as vessels for flowers! You can find some today with their original flowers inside still!

Hunting for Treasures:

The joy of finding the perfect lady head vase is like discovering a hidden gem. Whether at antique markets, thrift stores, or online auctions, the hunt is as thrilling as the unveiling of each unique piece. They can be found anywhere you search for antiques and vintage at, but I have found that some regions of the country/world can prove to be much harder than others. You will often find them with some wear, but many can still be found with their original manufacturer sticker on the base and in great condition! Some ladies will have repaired fingers, eyelashes, curls, replacement jewelry, broken or chipped hats, or entire head reconstruction with glue! These ladies were often displayed up high so many have had a few falls over their time. The other note to consider when hunting for lady head vases is the fact that there are many reproductions of head vases. Now this is ok if you are not worried about it being an original and like the look of the vase. I always tell people it is a personal collection and to collect what you like! The main thing is to not pay the rare high price for a vase that should not be being sold as an original!

Personal Style:

Incorporating lady head vases into your home decor is an expression of personal style. Mix and match different styles or focus on a specific type! Placed on a vanity, mantel, or as a centerpiece, they evoke a sense of nostalgia.
