7" ANRI Sarah Kay Hand Carved 'Hidden Treasure' Figurine Made in Italy
This is a charming figure of a young child wearing a floppy hat, patched overalls digging in the ground with a shovel hoping to discover some hidden buried treasures. The sculpture was carved from wood. Every single cut was worked by hand and every detail carefully hand brushed with special oil based colors. Woodcarving stands about 7" tall x 2-1/2" wide x 3" long. Sarah Kay's signature is incised on the back of the base and the underside is marked with ANRI metal disc. Limited Edition. 84/1000 numbered on base- no original box.
This design by Sarah Kay was "translated" into wooden figurine by Ulrich Bernardi. ANRI has produced a series of figurines in carved wood. Sarah Kay is known all over the world for her overwhelming success of her artwork and specifically her children interpretations. Some think it may be due to the fact that they remind people of their own childhood.
