This print is from the original that dates to 1835-1838 and depicts a view of Mieji, with two farmers stopping to give directions to a traveling priest. Miegi-juku was the fifty-fifth of the sixty-nine stations of the Nakasendo connecting Edo with Kyoto in Edo Period Japan. This is a Hiroshiges's print of Mieji-juku, part of the sixty-nine series.

The print measures 15"x10.25" in size and has three small rips in the margin on the right side, one rip on the lower bottom margin, and the corners are not perfectly straight. There is some dirt or something that has gotten on the print on the lower edge extending up into the lower portion of the water. This is a paper print. It would look great with a mat around the printed portion and framed.

The majority of the items in my shop are vintage or antique, e.g., have been used. Vintage and antique items by their very nature have some wear, imperfections, and signs of age/time. This is what gives them their character, charm, and collectability. Please examine the photos carefully for any flaws that I may have missed in my description. My photos are considered part of the item’s description. Also, please feel free to message for more photos and or details.
