Made by Wilkinson and Hume in Burslem, England. They made Ironstone for about 5 years from 1881-1885.
This jug has no chips or cracks on the outside, but there is a small chip inside the jug. Some minimal ware to the paint, it is in good condition.
It measures approximately 12 " by 8" and the top opening is about 5" diameter. Weighs 5lbs alone.
This Ironstone pattern was produced at Central Pottery a location in Burslem, England. Central Pottery was owned by Richard Alcock a well-respected earthenware manufacturer. Alcock passed in 1881 and Central Pottery was acquired by Wilkinson and Hume. Alcock's reputation was such that the stamp also says, "Late Richard Alcock." Hume retired from the business in 1885. Wilkinson continued in business at Central Pottery under the name A. J. Wilkinson Ltd. He later passed in 1891.
