"The dimensions of this gorgeous arrangement are approx 7″ tall and 9″ long. The arrangement is in a porcelain cachepot, in the shape of a Monteith bowl, designed and manufactured by Mottahedeh & Co., The cachepot itself is 5″ long at the top of the bowl (4.25″ long at the base of the bowl because of the slope) and 3.5″ high. The Monteith bowls for this design contain a hand written marking or stamp saying, “Lowestoft Reproduction Created by Mottahedeh” and typically also carry the stamp, “A Mottahedeh Design”. It appears that the later-manufactured bowls in this design carried, also, the “Vista Alegre For Mottahedeh” stamps"
" Mottahedeh & Co., founded in 1924 by Rafi Mottahedeh, and then galvanized by his wife, Mildred Mottahedeh, initially imported and sold Persian wares and antiquities, then focused on importing and selling antique Chinese Export porcelain, and then, finally, designing and manufacturing “reproductions” of the original porcelains, creating exceptionally attractive and finely crafted porcelain china.
