Antique Photographs- Antique Portrait Photo- Ferrotype
These are great antique photographs! The two portraits I assume to be a husband and wife as they were taken at the same studio in Peoria, IL. They are both 4x 2 3/8". They are really great portraits and are in good condition but the woman has some damage to the photo -see photos. The third is a ferrotype photo- a tin type that is a positive photograph made by a collodion process on a thin iron plate having a darkened surface. It is a size of about 4x2 1/4". The tin type photo was taken at Lathrop's in Philadelphia and has a fantastic paper border with a gorgeous design on it. Lathrop's was open between 1860-1870.
Sold as a set of three. The majority of the items in my shop are vintage or antique, e.g., have been used. Vintage and antique items by their very nature have some wear, imperfections, and signs of age/time. This is what gives them their character, charm, and collectability. Please examine the photos carefully for any flaws that I may have missed in my description. My photos are considered part of the item’s description. Also, please feel free to message for more photos and or details.
