Hummel Sacrart Madonna And Child - Vintage Mary and Jesus
The features on the faces of this Madonna and Child are painted exquisitely. There is such serenity, comfort, beauty, and thoughtfulness in the expressions.
This is a 3 3/4" high Sacrart Hummel porcelain piece that depicts the Madonna holding the Christ Child. It is a three-quarter piece that shows just the top half of her body, which allows the focus to be on the closeness and love of mother and child. The colors are gently muted shades of blue, pink, yellow, and brown.
This vintage piece is from the 1940-1959 period, I believe (due to the stamp) It is in good vintage condition. There are no chips, but there is light crazing. Tiny imperfection in the pottery on her cheek from manufacturing there is a tiny little spot in her lips that doesn't appear to be perfectly painted.
