This pattern was originally known as Abbey Wreath and had been produced by William Adams in the 1840s.The bowl/plate is set on a cream colored base. A golden yellow orange luster background is on the inner sides of the bowl. Around the inside rim are transfers of green scroll and lattice work. Inside the plate are remnants of an old church. Inside the bowl is a similar church scene which has had red paint applied to several sections. There are no chips or cracks, manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc. It is 8.5" in diameter and about 1.25" tall. It has a plate holder on the back-but can be removed.

Petrus Regout founded his glass and pottery factory in Maastricht in 1834 and became one of the most important Dutch table ware producers in the latter half of the 19th century until WWII.
Since 1890 the text Made in Holland was added to the factory logo and in 1899 the factory was renamed to Sphinx. In 1959 SPHINX/REGOUT merged with Societe ceramique de Maestricht. The factory stopped production of pottery in 1969.

The majority of the items in my shop are vintage or antique, e.g., have been used.Vintage and antique items by their very nature have some wear, imperfections, and signs of age/time. This is what gives them their character, charm, and collectability. Please examine the photos carefully for any flaws that I may have missed in my description. My photos are considered part of the item’s description. I define vintage as 20+ years old and vintage indicates age.  Also, please feel free to message for more photos and or details.
